OUR 1997 PRESCRIPTION WITH SYSTEM 5.0
Unrivalled tooth control
It is accepted that the edgewise bracket is good at controlling angulation (‘tip’) and in-out, but not so good for torque control.
However, wire bending for torque control should be a thing of the past in most treatments – it is easier and better with MB System 5.0 for two reasons:
1. The brackets are more accurate
2. There is a range of anterior torque options within the normal prescription.

Our award-winning 1997 book ‘Orthodontic Management of the Dentition’ recommended a prescription which we consider to be ideal for our mechanics and for the human dentition. Nearly 25 years later it has stood the test of time and become the most widely used prescription in the world today.
